MISSION
STATEMENT
The Department of Human Resources (DHR) is committed to the following
two facets of the workforce development system of American Samoa.
- Facilitating and sustaining all
employment and personnel systems (hiring, classification, promotion,
termination, personnel file maintenance, ect.) for the American
Samoan Government
- Coordinating all training and
workforce development opportunities for the current ASG workforce,
future ASG workforce, and the community at large
To successfully sustain a viable Human
Resources Department, two Divisions (the Personnel Division and the
Employment Training & Development Division) were created to meet the
challenges dictated by the ever-changing and complex standards of a
workforce system such as our own. Working hand-in-hand with the
Administrative Unit of the Director's office, these Divisions ensure a
well-coordinated, highly functional, and responsive workforce
system. To support this system, the following mission statement is
used as a guide in our daily practices:
